Use queue recreation when the correct connected printer exists but Windows is using a stale or broken printer entry. Record its model, connection, driver and any custom queue settings first. The source cases include duplicate/default-queue confusion and a D530 queue that was recreated.

  1. Keep the printer powered on and connected to the same USB or network path. Check ordinary connection and printer errors first.
  2. Open Settings > Bluetooth & devices > Printers & scanners on Windows 11, or Settings > Devices > Printers & scanners on Windows 10.
  3. Select only the verified stale entry and remove it. This removes that Windows queue; it does not repair the physical printer.
  4. Use Add device or Add a printer or scanner, choose the actual printer, and complete Windows’ installation prompts.
  5. Select the working queue as default when that is intended. If detection or driver installation fails, stop and use the exact-model printer instructions; do not choose a similarly named driver or delete unrelated queues.

Print a Windows test page, then the same document that failed. Confirm the application selects the new working queue and restore any recorded custom preferences. A failed test page needs printer/connection/driver diagnosis rather than repeated queue recreation.
