This is a reversible display workaround reported after hibernation, not proof that pointer settings caused the graphics fault.

  • Flicker and black-screen glitches after hibernation resume
  1. Open Mouse Properties.
  2. Open Pointer Options.
  3. Enable pointer trails.
  4. Set the trail length to the minimum.
  5. Apply the setting.
  6. Hibernate and resume to verify the display remains stable.

Reported outcome: The hibernation-resume display glitch stopped.

Record the original pointer-trail setting and restore it to undo the workaround. If the same resume glitch remains, retain the display-driver and Windows build details for diagnosis.
